I started learning how to cook when I was a young child helping my mother prepare meals for our family. I always thought of myself as a "natural chef," because once I began cooking on my own, I whipped up most dishes with ease and rarely burnt dishes or prepared items incorrectly. However, after I married my Irish husband and decided to try to whip up some classic Irish dishes I had never prepared before, I learned that I was only "a natural" at preparing the dishes my mother had taught me how to cook at home and that new skills are needed when tackling a brand new cuisine. It took a little trial and error, but I soon learned how to cook my husband's Irish favorites and challenged myself to tackle other cuisines, as well. I plan to share food and cooking tips on my new blog, so enjoy!
